Teddy Mantoro

Teddy Mantoro is a Computer Science Professor in Sampoerna University, Jakarta. He has intensive work in intelligent environment which also known as IoT research area. He developed the concept and theory of context aware computing for intelligent environment, and as a proof of concept of his works, he and his labs have developed many IoT prototypes including a ‘plug and play’ Smart Home,  HajjLocator (An Interactive Monitoring and Tracking System for Hajj Pilgrims), Rich Information Delivery Using Smart Posters, User Activity Recognition Using Hybrid Sensors, Online Authentication Using Smart Card and NFC, a Real Time Speech News Service for Smart Environment, Visualization and User Navigation in 3D Walk-spaces for Mobile User which lead to many awards that he received from National and International Competitions and Exhibitions. He received 5 Gold, 9 Silver and 11 Bronze Medals (2009-now) for National and International IT Innovation Competitions. He has filed 4 (four) patents in credit to his name. He has received 20+ research grants to date.

 

In 2012, he is one of the initiator of the Malaysian Computing Olympiad (MCO) and he is also an Associate Director, Asia ‐ Kuala Lumpur Site, ACM‐ICPC Asia Regional Contest  in 2009 to 2013. He served as a chief judge and problem setter for ACM‐ICPC National programming competition in Malaysia (2010-2014) and as a Judge in ACM‐ICPC Asia ‐ regional competition in Indonesia and Malaysia (2010-2016). In 2012, he, as coach, and his team represents Malaysia participated in world final ACM-ICPC programming contest in Warsaw, Poland.

 

Prof. Mantoro obtained a PhD, an MSc and a BSc, all in Computer Science and his PhD was awarded from School of Computer Science, the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. His research interest is in pervasive/ubiquitous computing, wireless sensor network, context aware computing, mobile computing and intelligent environment/IoT.

Prof S. N. Singh obtained his M. Tech. and Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, in 1989 and 1995, respectively. Presently, he is a Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. Before joining IIT Kanpur as Associate Professor, Dr Singh worked with UP State Electricity Board as Assistant Engineer from 1988 to 1996, with Rookree University (Now IIT Rookree) as Assistant Professor from 1996 to 2000 and with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand as Assistant Professor from 2001 to 2002. Dr Singh received several awards including Young Engineer Award 2000 of Indian National Academy of Engineering, Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, and Young Engineer Award of CBIP New Delhi (India), 1996. Prof Singh is receipt of Humboldt Fellowship of Germany (2005, 2007) and Otto-monsted Fellowship of Denmark (2009-10).His research interests include power system restructuring, FACTS, power system optimization & control, security analysis, wind power, etc. Prof Singh is a Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) India, a Senior Member of IEEE, USA, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (UK) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). Recently he received 2013 IEEE Educational Activities Board Meritorious Award in Continuing Education which is very prestigious award, first time won by a person of R10 region (Asia-Pacific).

Prof Singh has published more than 370 papers in International/national journals/conferences. He has also written two books one on Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution and second is Basic Electrical Engineering, published by PHI, India.

Dr. Singh was Chairman, IEEE UP Section for 2013 and 2014, and presently, he is Chairman IEEE Indian Council and Technical Vice Chair IEEE Region 10 .

Dr. Kar is Associate Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, in the area of Information Systems, Department of Management Studies. He is also associated with the Bharti School of Telecom and the CoE in Cyber Systems and Information Assurance in IIT Delhi. He teaches subjects like Predictive Analytics, Data Science, Digital Marketing, IT Consulting, Digital Payments and Management of ICTs. He is/has been the Chairman / Coordinator  of different administrative portfolios like Corporate Relations, Placements, Smart Office Automation, Doctoral Improvement Programme, Faculty Recruitment, Post Doctoral Fellow recruitment, etc. He has also offered consultancy and advisory services to multiple Multinational Private Enterprises and PSU / Ministries under the Government of India.

Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he has taught in IIM – Rohtak as Assistant Professor(v) for 2 years. In IIM Rohtak, he has held multiple administrative responsibilities as the Chair / Faculty in Charge / Committee Member of departments like Research, Projects, Admissions(CAT), Placements, PGP Executive committee, PGP Committee, FPM Committee, Capital Purchases, etc. In the past, prior to joining academics, he has rich industry experience with Cognizant Business Consulting and IBM – India Research Laboratory. He has also provided his advisory expertise as a free-lance consultant for multiple multinational organizations, GoI organizations and start-up web-based ventures. He has also been a Visiting Professor in reputed National Institutes ( IIM L, A, IIFT).

His research has been published in multiple refereed international journals and has presented papers in several leading international management conferences. He has received multiple recognition and awards for his research / publications.
